Mariana es artista visual, Licenciada en Artes y Humanidades de la Pontificia Universidad Católica de Chile (2014) y Magíster en Artes, Mención Artes Visuales de la Universidad de Chile (2024). Ha participado en diferentes espacios de exhibición en el territorio nacional, destacando como más recientes, las exposiciones colectivas en el Museo de Arte Contemporáneo (2024, 2022), la Galería D21 (2023) y la Galería Balmaceda 1215 (2022) y las exposiciones individuales en el Centro Cultural Agustín Ross (2021) y la Galería Espora (2019). Su trabajo ha recibido el primer lugar en concursos de pintura e ilustración, junto con el apoyo de un Fondart Regional en la Línea de Creación Artística (2020) y la Beca Chile Crea (2022).

Su obra representa una búsqueda constante entre la realidad y la ficción y las reflexiones que derivan de cada una. Así, cobran importancia las ilusiones que emanan de la realidad y las certezas que pueden desprenderse de la ficción. Estas cuestiones, que parecieran contradictorias, alimentan un imaginario que se ubica justo en el punto de balance de ambos polos, donde son protagonistas el misterio y la incertidumbre. Es a partir de allí que el arte se eleva como un mecanismo apropiado para el conocimiento del mundo que nos rodea. Las cavilaciones recién descritas han dado lugar a diferentes investigaciones sobre el mundo natural, sus ciclos y su relación un tanto desajustada con la especie humana, plasmadas en una obra pictórica que incorpora además elementos del tiempo, la interacción, el movimiento y la animación.

Mariana is a visual artist, Bachelor in Arts and Humanities from Pontificia Universidad Católica de Chile (2014) and Master in Arts, Mention in Visual Arts from Universidad de Chile (2024). She has exhibited her work at renowned local museums and galleries, highlighting as most recent, the group exhibitions at the Museum of Contemporary Art of Santiago, MAC (2024, 2022), D21 Gallery (2023) and Balmaceda 1215 Gallery (2022); and the solo shows at the Agustín Ross Culture Center (2021) and Espora Gallery (2019). Her work has received First Place in national painting and illustration competitions, along with the support of a Fondart Grant in the Artistic Creation Line (2020) and the Chile Crea Scholarship (2022).

Her artwork represents a constant search between reality and fiction and the reflections that derive from each. In this way, the illusions that emanate from reality and the certainties that can emerge from fiction acquire importance. These seemingly contradictory issues feed an imaginary that is located right at the balance point of both poles, where mystery and uncertainty take a central role. It is from this standpoint that art rises as an appropriate mechanism for the understanding of the world that surrounds us. The musings just described have led to different investigations about the natural world, its cycles and its somewhat misaligned relationship with the human species, expressed in a pictorial work that also incorporates elements of time, interaction, movement and animation.
